The Community Housing Association of Dodge City (CHAD) accepted a $300,000 Community Block Development Grant (CBDG) from the Kansas Department of Commerce on behalf of the City of Dodge City. CHAD applied for the competitive housing rehabilitation grant in efforts to bring much needed housing opportunities to our community.
The Revive the Block project will target home rehabilitation in an area generally bounded by south side of the 1000 – 1200 block of West Beeson Road, 1000 – 1200 block of Longbranch Road, 900 – 1000 block of Harris Avenue, 900 – 1000 block of Kelley Avenue, 1000 – 1200 block of McArtor Road and the 900 block of Masterson Road.
Eligible families could receive up to $25,000 to cover various levels of repairs for the rehabilitation of their homes. The funds will facilitate needed repairs that would bring the homes to the city’s livable standards codes or those in imminent danger of failing. Eligible repairs include but are not limited to: handicapped accessibility, drainage doors and access openings, foundation repair, electrical and mechanical repairs. The Revive the Block project will bring partners and resources together, leveraging funds and building community assets.
