The Community Housing association of Dodge City (CHAD), a 501 ( c)(3) nonprofit, was created to address the housing needs in the community. Operated by CHAD, the Abandoned Housing Program uses a two-pronged approach to address the need for affordable housing by rehabbing vacant homes and constructing new homes on vacant lots. CHAD partners with the Dodge City Community College (DCCC) Building Construction Technology Program to build a new home every year. This year’s build is underway and located at 600 Avenue N.
