If you work on homes or child-occupied facilities (includes day care centers and schools) built prior to 1978 the Renovate, Repair, and Paint (RRP Rule) applies to you. Who must follow the RRP rule? In general, anyone who is paid to perform work that disturbs paint/coated surfaces in housing and child-occupied facilities built before 1978, including, but not limited to: Residential rental property owners/managers, General contractors and sub-contractors, Special trade’s contractors including Painters, Plumbers, Carpenters and Electricians.
